I’m playing my first golf tournament Monday and want to know some ways to get focused and pumped up before I tee off. Any superstitions you have before tee time? Or how do you prepare? Thanks.

Golf Shoes

Perhaps it is only in the game of Golf would the popular adage “dress for success” could ring so much true. The social status in a game of golf is never overlooked. In fact, it is often regarded as epitome of one’s success. The golf clubs, the accessories, the clothes, and the golf shoes, in a golf club everyone weighs and deliberates everybody’s interaction and belongings as a status of their success, or the fatness of their bank account.

However the adage does have other positives other than contributing to one’s social factor however minimal. It allows greater traction on the green for instance. Grass on the green can be moist sometimes, and when it is moist, occurrences of slips aren’t that uncommon especially on uncleated shoes. Some shoes also provide zany comfort useless or not, such as Nike Golf Shoes Verdana Limited’s Encapsulated Heel Air and Forefront Zoom Air which for the life of me I cannot fathom what use it serve. Maybe it is an interesting conversation piece?

Golf shoes are long regarded as a fashion accessory and nothing more. You can do as much and be comfortable besides with an ordinary cleated pair. So why do these revolutionary golf shoes still come pouring in? More fashion conceivably? You’ll be surprised at the technology that’s been embedded at golf shoes which needed really was only cleats. Why do they believe that golf shoes needs the tweaking that would allow for a little twist and let you achieve a longer drive? You be the judge. Here’s the best of them.

Nike Verdana Limited Stream Line for $34.95

* Innersole: Encapsulated Heel Air and Forefoot Zoom Air Unit
What it does: Provides responsive cushioning for the life of the shoe.

* Supple full grain leather with Water Shield waterproof membrane
What it does: Will keep the foot dry though out the round.

* T@C rubber outsole technology with LP Scorpion Spikes and Q-LOK system.

* 1 year limited waterproof warranty.

* 45 day limited comfort warranty.

Perhaps the most useful option is surprisingly only the warranties. Perhaps the cushioning would provide comfort, given the long distances the holes are spaced. Then again, golf courses are made on earth, not cement, so there could be no further cushioning needed besides what a regular shoe could afford. And did they mean the waterproof-ness of the supple grain leather is not designed to last? That would be a handy option, especially if water will begin breaking in before the warranty expires. Then again, most shoes are water proof, and they don’t carry the “Water Shield Waterproof Membrane” price tag. So, are you going to bite? Maybe all of these could be useful to you, cushioning plus waterproof plus warranty.

Golf Is Like Life

Golf is a sport in which a player, using several types of clubs, hits a ball into each hole on the golf course in the lowest possible number of strokes. Golf is defined in the Rules of Golf as “playing a ball with a club from the teeing ground into the hole by a stroke or successive strokes in accordance with the Rules. The origin of golf is open to debate as to being Chinese, Dutch or Scottish. Stroke play is the most common scoring method but there are many others, including match play, skins, speed golf and captain’s choice, which in disc golf is referred to as “doubles” (not to be confused with partner or team play). Golf is unique in having lucrative competition for older players.

Golf can be frustrating when you are first starting out.Golf has become a worldwide sport, with golf courses in the majority of countries. Golf has increasingly turned into a spectator sport, with several different levels of professional and amateur tours in many regions of the world. Golfers sometime contort their bodies in unique ways to navigate around obstacles. Golf clubs have always been a place to do business and talk deals, but by keeping non-business people away from the greens, the Presidential aims to truly become an annex to the office.

Golf course Rating is expressed in strokes and decimal fractions of a stroke, and is based on yardage and other obstacles to the extent that they affect the scoring ability of a scratch player. Courses are rated by authorized golf associations, not by individual clubs. Courses that are too costly can be unrealistic to play on because of their cost.

The full golf swing itself is used in tee and fairway shots. For a right-handed golfer, it consists of a backswing to the right, a downswing to the left (during which the ball is hit), and a follow through. Draws and fades are caused by slight misalignments between the club face and swing plane because of a slightly “open” or “closed” club face at contact; a skilled player can control the amount of draw or fade to make the ball curve along the path of the fairway. Penalty strokes are counted towards a player’s score as if they were an extra swing at the ball.

Golf is one of the few ball games that does not use a standardized playing area; rather, the game is played on golf “courses,” each one of which has a unique design and typically consists of either 9 or 18 separate holes. While still a male-dominated sport, women’s golf is rapidly gaining attention and popularity. For some people, learning a simple golf swing for best results golf is a great relaxing activity. Don’t be so competitive that you forget that golf is a game played competitively for enjoyment. They say golf is like life, but don’t believe them.

Golf Apparel

When choosing golf apparel, as with golf shoes, man people’s choices are primarily driven by looks and fashion. While these are no doubt important factors (who doesn’t want to look good?), they shouldn’t be the only factors: the right (or wrong) choice of clothing can greatly affect a player’s game.

Of course, you may not have a totally free choice of what you can wear on the course. While some golf clubs do allow you to wear what you want as long as it is tasteful, there are also many that have rules about what is acceptable on their course. Typical rules state that no tank tops, short shorts or jeans are allowed, and often also require that all players wear shirts with collars.

For men, the choice of golf apparel is usually relative uncomplicated. Khaki pants and a collared polo shirt are the the most popular choice and acceptable on almost all golf courses. In warm weather conditions, most golf clubs allow male players to wear fitted shorts. Most players also find a hat useful, as it helps keep the sun out of their eyes.

Women usually have a much wider choice of golf apparel that men. Golf skirts are increasingly popular as they do not restrict movement, but some women prefer shorts or loose pants. As with men, polo shirts are also widespread, and some upscale golf course allow women to wear sleeveless polos. Keeping the sun out of one’s eyes is just as important for female players as for men, and many women opt for visors, although some do prefer hats.

Here are some tips on choosing golf apparel:

- It is usually best to choose clothes that are made of lightweight, breathable fabrics – especially if you mainly play in cold weather conditions. Of course manufacturers of golf apparel are aware of this requirement, and so it shouldn’t be too difficult to find clothing like this.

- Another thing to bear in mind is that if your clothing is too tight it can be a positive disadvantage. A good golf swing is based on a smooth fluid movement, and hence you must choose apparel which does not restrict your movement.

- When playing golf there’s a lot of bits and pieces (like golf tees, divot markers and extra balls) that you need to carry around with you, and hence having pockets in your shorts or pants is very convenient. Of course, you don’t want to stuff your pockets (extra balls are a particular culprit for this) as it can throw off your swing quite a bit.

There are many places to find golf apparel. You can of course buy golf clothing in a golf store, or a the pro shop at the golf course, but the cheapest option is often the Internet – you may be amazed at some of the bargains that you can get online!
